I'm employed

Alrighty, its been a while since the last update.

Started giving tuition for a few weeks. It wasn't a really bad experience as compared to what I had thought of initially. NONETHELESS, I am still against being a teacher. I guess the real challenge for giving tuition is not the contents of the subjects but to bring the message across to the kid.

We finally had our privatized-BBQ came true. Even though there's only six of us and my sis, I believed that everyone of us had enjoyed that night. Thanks to our BBQ-planner Li Teng for preparing the food. Lets look forward for another one soon!

The six girls that once met in nyp and become good Frends.

Been visiting Mommy quite recently since I am not busy with anything. Had a Mid-Autumn celebration with Mommy and the little ones. Kids are really full of energy, everytime after my visit I will be so dead tired when I'm back home. I'm really happy when I'm with them.

Another visit to Mommy's house ytd to tell her the good news. And yes, the good news is I've got a job! FINALLY! Finally I could bring in income to the family. Finally, my backpack trip to Europe is a lil step nearer. Finally.... there's so much to look forward to. Hope that everything will go on smoothly in work.

Was chatting with Mommy when she was making dinner, we talked a lot. Talked about the days when she was young and living in the kampong, when it only cost 30 cents for a movie and 15 cents for a bottle of coke... all the way till she moved into HDB flat and how she came to become my babysitter. I really enjoyed listening to these stories, it made me feel as if i'm back to days when i was a little kid.

Jobless Idy

August is coming to an end soon and I'm still jobless. Watching the days passing by like nobody's business, wondering what I'm gonna do the next day every night before I sleep. Having high hopes that everytime my phone rings, it'll be some potential employer who saw my resume.
Sounds Wasted isn't it.
Everyone else is making contribution, be it giving tuition or having a part time or even better, being employed.
I'm just wondering, should I really consider giving tuition? Friends are encouraging me to do that. I know many will roll eyes (especially my sis) and say that its just so impossible. How could that be? Yea, I cant disagree with it too. For one, I don't have a way with kids. Two, I have zero confidence with those subjects. Three, no patience.
Let me think for two more nights.
Sis's birthday is coming soon! Thought of bringing her out for a meal and get her something she likes. Was thinking of getting her something that she could use for indoor exercising as she's gonna be confined for months after the op. Hula Hoop? No idea where to get it thou.
Hope that everything will turn well for her and she can put on her sport shoes soon!

Idy's Birthday

Whenever I went shopping in JP2, I will come across this Icing room. Its a cake shop which sells you plain cake and you are allowed to decorate it yourself within 30 min. Usually, you can see eager students putting their heads together surrounding a small cake, trying their best to fill up the cake with their creativity.

29th of August 2009 was a really really wonderful day. Not only it was the day I was officially announced as a Graduate, my very wonderful frends gave me a surprise too! It has never came across my mind at all that I would one day receive such a cake. The girls really put in effort in making the cake. Going on the net to search for pictures of lions and practicing it to make things perfect... so touched..

When its about 70% done. Its a picture of a lion and a girl, which actually reflects my email add "leogal". Haha, I'm surprised that they could think of this!

My cake!! Nice nice..

The Creators of the cake.

I love it! Thanks girls, love ya all!

I was staying at home as usual on birthday, watching tv and staff. It was until dinner when our whole family went out for a feast. Mum ordered 寿面 and many other nice dishes. When it came, it was such a big plate that it occupy half the table. I would still prefer having mee sua on bday, its nicer. After dinner, my sisters took out a cake from the fridge. I was thinking it must be either chocolate cake or mango cake, surely it wouldn be the one I am thinking of (Strawberry Shortcake).

Then I saw my cake, it was Strawberry Shortcake! The one I'm thinking of!! I'm so happy!

Phuket Getaway

At last, after all the uploading of pics (5 at a time), I could get my ass down to write about this memorable trip to Phuket with these wonderful people: Caryn, Lisa, Ee Siang and our big bro Lun.
This trip was made possible when one fine evening after dinner, one of us went surfing the net and suddenly.." Wah, the air tix to Phuket $10 only leh" and 2 hours later, after all the jio-ing, calling and informing-the-parents, the booking was done.

Let's get on and let the pictures do the talking. It actually took me 3 days to load these essence. Really a test of my patience.

The bad thing is to have to wake up so early but the good thing is I could finally get a plane ride in the day.

We always get to hear this word "chui", but what is the real meaning behind this word?

Look at our chui faces

Shouldn it be 6 of us? Our dear Ernest could not make it and left the 5 of us to conquer Phuket. I shall give Ernest some credits for sending us goodbye messages at 6am.

I can only say that I tend to be more vulnerable when I'm not activated. If my engine is running, I won't allow such pictures to be taken.

On board the plane. Notice this Ah Gong on the right..

This is the way he made himself immune to his granddaughter's cries. Man, that kid cried almost the whole journey and I was so tempted to pinch her for being so noisy.

Here we go! Our journey starts here.

This is the road which leads us to our resort. Don't look nice at first sight, wait till you see what it can bring us to.

Pacific Club Resort

This is the entrance of the resort.

The lobby

The kitchen. This is what we see when we enter our apartment.

Our walk-in wardrobe.

The living room, which gave us the really cosy feeling.

The balcony, its actually L-shaped couldn really capture the whole of it. Notice the 2 columns of glass panels, what lies behind it was the guys' bathroom. Lucky the girls' toilet wasn't like this.

This is taken from our balcony. Isn't it just so beautiful..

This resort has really done its part of making tourist feel so at home.

This is what we saw when we enter our bedrooms. The swans were made from bath towels.

Erm..
After settling down our baggage and stuff, we went hunting for our transportation for the rest of the stay. Its really sunny there and we came across this 7-11 and suddenly thought of Jon.

This is specially dedicated to Jon. (Homogeneous tan)

We rented a Hi-Lander, its similar to Hylux. And with Lun's GPS, we're more than ready to start our expedition.
The first stop we went was Downtown Plaza, and it turned out to be a market.

This is a mixture of potato and flour. Sounds fattening ain it? But we don't really care. It taste great!

The BBQ pork definitely look fattening but nobody cares. Nothing's stopping us.. muahaha

Time for our daily dose of Vitamin C. We brought fruits back to stock up our fridge. Not only the people there like sweet stuff, their fruits were also sweet.

The carpark exit, our car fits just nicely to this alley.

We made our way to Promthep Cape in hope to catch sunset.

Might Idy

It was really cloudy that evening, we couldn really see the yolk thou. Guys, being brave, went down hill to capture nice pictures while we girls waited there and feed on wind.

When you feel that you've actually lived enough, you might wanna try Bungee Jump. Being the youngest in the group, Caryn and me felt that we have not lived enough yet and so the rest of them tried bungee jump. Proud of them!

Rule number one: Tuck in your shirt!
Rule number two: Rmb to do some warmup to avoid straining ur body.
Rule number three: Rmb to open your eyes to enjoy the scenary.
Rule number four: Please SHOUT! (if not photographers like me might have thought that you fainted)

We have The Daring..

The Brave one..

The Superhero..

Look at our warriors with their frozen-shaking-forced smile.
Its good that not all of us jump. Time for me to take over the wheel and ensure highest level of safety.

We stop over at this fishing port. Look at the size of their sotong! They're not totally dead yet!

We continued to hunt for Au Sang Beach. According to the book, its a secluded beach and we thought that it might be a really amazing beach. We drove and drove, but sadly it couldn be found. And we came to this place which we were told that there's a beach at the end of the stairs. We pondered a while as we were reluctant to take this staircase. Its not those ordinary stairs in our HDB, every step is like the height from the ground to the kneecap.
Nonetheless, we still walked down..

We made our way to the tourist attraction in Phuket - Phuket Fantasea

It is actually a 3-in-1 combination of our Jurong Bird Par, Zoo and Sentosa.

The tickets were inclusive of a international buffet dinner. Look at the scale of their restaurant. The food was nice, but I still prefer those roadside stalls.

Stranger A decided to occupy a quarter of our photo.

The fake scarecrow with real albino crows on it.

At Karon beach

The waves were really huge! They're about 2m tall. I was standing on the beach where the water level was just at my ankle and below, when the wave came crashing down, the water level rise straight up to my chest level. How cool is that! Come to think about it again, its actually really scary.

Awaiting for the wave
Waiting..

Boom!! The power is enough to sweep me back on shore. Best natural jacuzzi.

My all-time-favourite jumpshot.

Lisa enjoying sand spa.

We decided to have poolside lunch back in our resort since we were already wet. And ooh, I don't know what word can I use to describe. Relaxing, Shiok, Heaven, Oh My Gosh!!

The best drink to have will be coconut!

Phuket Riding Club

We went horse riding without the guys. (They prefer Thai massage) It was my first time riding a horsey for so long. Its a nice experience, but its too expensive to take up horse riding in SG.

The size of the horse is directly proportional to the weight of the rider. I like my horsey, Wan, is her name. She loves to gallop and when she does that I was so scared that I might just fall off her back. Caryn's horse loves to eat. He kept eating along the way.

Know what is this for?

A simple tool to help remove your boots without bending down. Amazing eh..

We had dinner along the beach after riding.

Kong Ming Lantern

May all our wishes become reality.

Go Kart!

Jung Ceylon

Its Phuket's Orchard Rd with all the shopping centers there. Except that thers roadside stalls on the opposite.
I can swear that the roadside stalls sell really nice food. Let the pictures prove it.

Like crispy pancakes with different flavours. There's even quail egg flavour, which is delicious.

BBQ pork and meat balls

No idea what it is..

This drink stall uncle makes every single cup of beverage with his heart. He will let you taste the drink you ordered until you are satisfied before he gets paid. Really good service just to earn SGD$1/cup.

For sotong lovers, this is a must-try.
The fried chicken taste much much better than those fast food fried chicken we have here.

Steam corn

Eat and walk and eat and walk and eat and walk......

Best invention: Mango Sticky Rice (I still missed it now)

Pancake with chocolate and banana taste just right.

Care for something special and extraordinary?

Cannot see clearly right, nvm, let me zoom-in...

Fried maggots anyone? (OMG!!)
I managed to meet up with Aunty Becky who's working in Phuket. Its been awhile since I last saw her during CNY. It feels great to meet a family member when travelling. Had a great catchup time with her and I do hope to visit her again!

Some of them said we look alike. Good genes must be shared.

While I'm having dinner with Aunty Becky, the rest of them went around Jung Ceylon.

*sigh* Still wanna be 叔叔 when we're out in Thailand. And breaking the law too.

The Big Buddha

Finally, a picture of our vehicle. Its not an ordinary pickup, its a powerful pickup.

I guess that marks the whole 5-day journey. I had a wonderful time travelling with the company and I look forward to travel again together in the near future. To where, its not important. It is the comapny that makes the trip fun and memorable.
Thats for now

Monday, May 25, 2009

Its been a busy May. I admit I'm just too lazy to update. I'll do the updating once i get everything settled.

Saturday, March 28, 2009

I've been surfing ard and realize that my last post was actually 5th of Jan. Its already 28th of Mar today. Where have I gone for the past months? Most of my time was spent in school, all those tests and assignments, and not forgetting the time wasting-goddamn sickening fyp. What I can say is fyp really suck BIG TIME, even thou it is already at the final stage now. Well, whatever...

I guess its time to backdate a lil. Let's go back to CNY this year, we had hse visiting to Han's residence. (Thanks Han Jr for playing host!) Oh, this year we've got weilun to join us, he got his new bike. Even bigger than the previous, I had difficulty climbing onto the seat. But it does look when I'm on it eh.

We were trying to camwhore with Ernest's ET.

Finally weilun got to see the legendary of shoe collection.

We spent the afternoon, chit chatting and gambling.

The next event after cny will be the celebration of Ernest's 27th bday. We had it over at IMM-Secret Recipe. And we got him a slice of award winning choco banana cake. Its really nice, not too sweet and not too chocolaty.

5th of Mar
This day, its not only caryn's bday, its also the day she became a qualified driver. Really feel happy for her, its really torturing to keep throwing in money to go for lessons and its time wasting too. Well Jon, i'm certain you'll make the next time. Jia you ok.

We went down to BBDC after class to show our support. Lun even brought his cam along to take down this memorable day.

Let the pictures do the talking then...

Its always good to take a nice photo for your license.

Award giving ceremony

Oh ya, we made caryn drive us to vivo immediately after she passed. This is to show her our support, but somehow we need to be assured that it'll be safe, hanging on the the P-plate just ain enough...

With the slip of paper, we as the passengers, will feel insured.

Some pictures taken at Vivocity.

Played a game of pool while waiting for ES and Lisa to join in.

We had dinner over at Bei Shang Chuan. Food was so-so but company was great!

We wanted to do a customised yr book of our own, so we need to start taking photos.

Here are some taken during that day..
The jump-shot was tiring, but its fun thou.

叔叔,谢谢您不在这里吸烟。

We ended the day with this..

Fyp draft was dued on last wed. Me, caryn and jon were slogging in sch for our reports. We had a sleepless tueday, and I only managed to hand it in at 4pm on wed. Its really killing me man! Being awake for more than 24hrs. I'm so afraid I might just faint on my way back home. Luckily sis came to sch to look for me. That feeling of fatigue was just so unbearable. I wouldn't want to repeat this again. I need normal living lifestyle. I wished it'll be over and done soon. And I hope the lecturers do not give us our grades based on results, it the time and effort we'd spend on it counts.
